General Description

Move beyond basic calculations to perform some simple statistical analysis and work with dates and times.

Target Audience

This session is intended for participants with little knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Pre-requisites

Participants should be able to use standard features of Microsoft Excel including how to enter and format data and move around a worksheet.

Learning Outcomes

• Create Sum calculations for cells not next to each other.
• Create formula by typing cell references
• Use absolute and mixed references in a formula
• Edit existing formula
• Use the SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX functions
• Use the ROUND and COUNT functions
• Add the current time and date to a spreadsheet
• Use the current time and/or date in a formula
• Perform arithmetic with dates and times
• Use the HOUR, MINUTE and SECOND functions
• Use time calculation results in other functions
• Protect cells within a worksheet
• Password protect a workbook
